Sarah Williams

Sarah Williams recently graduated from Northern Arizona University with a degree in Choral Music Education. Sarah teaches voice, beginning piano, and beginning ukulele. Throughout her studies, she developed a strong foundation in vocal pedagogy, music theory, musicianship, conducting, and music learning through both coursework and hands on teaching experiences. Her practicum placements in K-12 music classrooms provided opportunities to observe experienced educators, work with individual students and small groups, assist with instruction, and apply effective teaching strategies in real classroom settings. She has also gained experience from her coursework that has allowed her to work one-on-one with new voice students, tailoring instruction to each student’s individual goals, learning style, and level of experience. As an active performer herself in collegiate choirs, a cappella groups, and professional ensembles, Sarah gained extensive experience in healthy vocal technique, ensemble singing, and musical expression that influences her teaching today. In addition to her vocal training, she has played ukulele for many years and enjoys introducing students to an instrument that is both approachable and engaging. Her piano background was developed through extensive collegiate music study, where keyboard skills played an important role in her preparation as a music educator.

She believes that every student can succeed when lessons are tailored to their individual goals, interests, and learning styles. Her teaching approach focuses on building strong fundamentals, developing confidence, and creating an encouraging environment where students feel comfortable taking risks and celebrating their progress. Whether a student is preparing for a performance, learning their first instrument, or simply exploring music for fun, Sarah strives to make lessons engaging, supportive, and rewarding.

As a newly graduated music educator beginning her teaching career, Sarah is excited to bring fresh ideas, current educational practices, and a genuine passion for music into every lesson. Sarah is committed to continuing her own growth as an educator while also helping students build confidence, develop strong musical skills, and discover the joy of making music. Whether working with beginning musicians or students seeking to strengthen their abilities, she aims to foster a positive and engaging learning experience that inspires a lifelong appreciation for music.
