Kimber J Stonehouse

Kimber J Stonehouse is a piano teacher with a Bachelor of Music in Piano Performance from MacMurry College and a Master of Music in Music Theory from Arizona State University.

After several years of asking her parents to learn the piano, she finally started lessons at 9 years old. She has loved making music and playing piano ever since. At 12 years old, she began playing in church and accompanying choir at her junior high school. She continued to accompany vocal music and began teaching piano at 18.

She is a fan of nearly every type of music and loves opening the world of piano for tomorrow's performers. She teaches a structured curriculum with fun, laughter, technique, music theory, and a wide variety of music. She studied Piano Performance at a small, private college in Illinois and continued her studies at the graduate level in Music Theory at Arizona State University.

At Arizona State, she had the opportunity to study early music performance and harpsichord with excellent instructors and performers—focusing on J.S. Bach, Rameau, and many other composers from the Baroque Era (1685–1750).

One of her favorite things to teach during lessons is the piano works from great composers: Bartók, Mozart, Beethoven, etc. Together with her students, she selects the piece or pieces they want to discover—then the challenge begins. They explore original pieces these composers wrote for their students.
