Lauren Oliver

Lauren Oliver is born and raised in Las Vegas. She started playing violin at age 3 and piano at age 5. As a violinist, the majority of her playing was under Yunior Lopez’s instruction where she competed and placed in the Silver State, Carol Jackson, and Las Vegas Academy Senior Concerto Competitions. She also participated in Honor and All-state Orchestra as section leader and concert master. Furthermore, Lauren is a 10 year member of the Las Vegas Young Artist Orchestra and concert master of their Symphony Orchestra. With piano, she studied under Michelle Lee and competed and placed in Ensemble, Jazz, and Solo Ensemble, as well as the Silver State, Bushell, Legacy, Steinway, Carol Jackson, and Las Vegas Academy Senior Concerto Competitions. During high school she attended the Las Vegas Academy of the Arts as an orchestra major where she served as concert master of the philharmonic group and had the opportunity to perform at the Midwest Clinic and twice at Carnegie Hall.

Lauren is currently an undergraduate student at the University of Nevada Las Vegas as a double major in Music Performance and Economics. Specifically, she studies violin under Professor Wei-Wei Le and is a member of the UNLV Chamber and Symphony Orchestras. She is also a member of the Consolidated Students of the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV Undergraduate Student Government) where she serves as a Senator for the College of Fine Arts.

For the past 3 years, Lauren has worked as a violin/viola mentor for the Young Artists Orchestra Summer Camp, and takes occasional lesson requests from students of all backgrounds. Lauren prides herself in providing students with guidance and kindness. She also prioritizes creating a supportive and engaging environment during her lessons. Her biggest goal for students is to make them feel confident in their playing, because that is when performers truly shine.
